At the heart of ANZAAN Connect is our annual conference – a major gathering of alumni association leaders, committee members, school and university representatives, advancement professionals and specialists from across the sector.
But connection shouldn't happen just once a year.
From 2027, ANZAAN Connect will also bring our community together through a programme of smaller local and regional events throughout the year.

Following the success of our inaugural conference in 2026, the ANZAAN Connect Conference returns in 2027.
The conference brings together people involved in alumni and advancement to hear what's working, explore new ideas, learn from experienced practitioners and, importantly, learn from each other.
The programme is practical rather than theoretical, covering the real opportunities and challenges facing alumni organisations today.
From engagement, events and communications to governance, technology, fundraising, data and building stronger relationships with schools and universities, the conference is designed to provide ideas that delegates can take away and use.

CONNECTING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
ANZAAN Connect Local
Our annual conference is only one opportunity to bring the ANZAAN community together.
Throughout 2027, we plan to introduce smaller ANZAAN Connect events in locations across New Zealand and Australia, creating more opportunities for people to meet locally, build relationships and share their experiences.
These events will be deliberately smaller and more informal than our annual conference.
They might include a breakfast or lunch, an after-work gathering, a roundtable discussion, a workshop or an opportunity to hear from someone doing something particularly well within the alumni and advancement community.
The objective is simple: make it easier for people working in alumni to meet, talk and learn from one another throughout the year.

Good Ideas Are Worth Sharing
One of the principles behind ANZAAN is that we shouldn't all have to reinvent the wheel.
Alumni organisations across Australia and New Zealand are tackling many of the same challenges – finding lost alumni, engaging younger generations, running successful events, improving governance, developing fundraising programmes, using technology and building stronger relationships with their institutions.
Somewhere, another organisation has probably already tried something similar.
ANZAAN Connect creates opportunities to bring those experiences together.
Through our annual conference and smaller local gatherings, we want people to share what's working, talk openly about what hasn't worked and build relationships with others facing similar challenges.
